Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025
Firefly Forest is a game about wonder, not data collection. We built it so that every element of your experience stays entirely on your own device — the only light we leave in the dark is your glowing score.
Nothing Leaves Your Device
Firefly Forest does not transmit any information to any server, anywhere. There is no backend, no analytics pipeline, and no user account system. The game engine runs fully inside your browser tab, and when you close it, your session simply ends.
Score Storage
If your browser supports local storage, Firefly Forest will quietly save your personal best score so it persists the next time you visit. This small piece of data lives only in your browser — it is never synced, backed up, or accessible to us. You can erase it by clearing your browser's site data for this page.
Cookies
We set no cookies. Not session cookies, not tracking cookies, not advertising cookies. Nothing at all. If your browser reports a cookie from this page, it did not originate from us.
Fonts via Google Fonts
The display fonts used in Firefly Forest are served by Google Fonts, a free CDN. When your browser fetches those font files it makes a standard HTTPS request to Google's servers, which may record your IP address as part of normal web server logging. That interaction is governed by Google's own privacy policy, and we receive no data from it.
No Advertising, No Third-Party Trackers
Firefly Forest contains no advertisements and no embedded third-party trackers. We do not work with ad networks, data brokers, or analytics providers. There is nothing here to monetise your attention — just the game.
Children
Firefly Forest is family-friendly and involves no age-restricted content. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, children can play without any special concern about data privacy.
Your Rights
Since we hold no personal data on any server, there is nothing to request, correct, or delete from our end. Any locally stored score data is fully under your control via your browser settings.
Changes to This Policy
Should we ever update these practices, the revised policy will appear on this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to check back occasionally.
